Yikes- I can not even get to my blog content without clicking immediately on "post" or "design" to get to this area. I have no idea if someone has "Hijacked" my blog content too!!!

Sigh - life was simple before computers- why do I have to love them so????

Teaching Our Kids About Natural Disasters

Kid Scoop, the kid's online "e-zine", is a great resource that we have used this year and they have put together a FREE e-zine dealing with tsunami's and the earthquake in Japan.

If your children have been interested in finding out more about the earthquake in Japan, but you have been wondering how to teach about this type of natural disaster on their level, without frightening or disturbing them through all the images that the mainstream media provides, this may be a good tool for your family.

This "Special Edition" even includes information on how our students can help those who are in need as a result of the earthquake and resulting tsunami. You can download the special edition and the free printable mini unit, by clicking on the Kid Scoop logo above.

Our family has always believed that it is important to teach our children when their interest level is high about a particular subject. This is a good opportunity to teach your children the Science and geology behind an earthquake and tsunami and about the geography & culture of Japan, as well as taking time to engage them in reaching out to those who need our help in the days to come.

I hope that you and your family will also join us in praying for the people of Japan~
